Laylatul Qadr

“The Laylatul Qadr is better than a thousand months.” (97:3)

Prayers offered with sincerity on this auspicious Night of Power will have unlimited rewards.

General procedures for special nights and occasions

A.    Do namaz [prayer].

B.    Do your daily wazifa [assignment].

C.    Do the special prayer, zikr, dua:

1.    2 rakat Mid-night namaz,
in each rakat 101 times Suratul Ikhlas (112)

(Mid-night prayer is not necessarily at midnight, but in the middle of the Isha and Fajr prayers time-wise. Consider the number of hours between Isha time and Fajr time. Divide by two. Then determine the Mid-night prayer time. For example, if Isha is at 8 pm and Fajr at 6 am, then between 8 pm and 6 am there are 10 hours. (10 / 2 = 5) In this case, Mid-night prayer is at 1 am.

2.    101 times Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim

3.    3 times each of the Qadiri and Rifai Virds
(applicable for AQRT murids only)

4. 101 times the following:
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Sub-hana Rabbika Rabbil – izzati amma yasifun
Wa Salaamun ‘alal – mursalin
Wal hamdu lillahi Rabbil ‘alamin
(Qur’an 37: 180 – 182)
See translation and Arabic text below…

5.    7 times Suratul Qadr (97)

6.    501 times (thinking of the world)

Do the best you can!

Qur’an, Sura Al Saffat (37:180-182)

Glorified is your Rab, Rab of Majesty,
above all that which they attribute to Him,
And salaam on the messengers,
And all gratitude and praise belong to Allah,
the Lord of the worlds.
