The Apparent One

Is Allah Apparent

The point is that we seem to forget the “Allah Factor” in our worldly affairs. We have to remember this in our government affairs, national affairs, local affairs and personal affairs. Allah is part of our lives. We cannot avoid this and we cannot close our eyes to it. When we forget Allah, then we make mistakes. Allah is not hidden – Allah is very apparent. The greatest miracle is that although Allah is apparent, nobody can see Allah.

How can you hide yourself in the open? It seems impossible, yet Allah has hidden Himself in the open. Because He is hidden, we assume that Allah does not exist. That is when we make mistakes. Allah is present in everything.

Qur’an References

He is Al Awwal [The Former] and Al Akhir [The Latter] and Al Zahir [The Outer] and Al Batin [The Inner], and He knows everything. (Al Hadid:3)

Taqwa verses

There is no doubt that for those who act with taqwa [self-vigilance] when any temptation from Satan troubles them, they only have to do zikr [repeated remembrance with contemplation] (of Allah), and that will bring them to clear sight. (Al A’raf:201)

“Act with taqwa towards the One Who has provided you with all the things you can see and know” (Al Shu’ara:132)

Ask them (O Muhammad), “Who provides for you from the sky and the earth? Who really owns the hearing and the seeing? Who actually brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living, and Who directs all affairs?” They will say, “Allah.” Then say, “Will you not then have taqwa? (Yunus:31)

O you who believe, do not be forward in the presence of Allah and His Messenger! Have taqwa [self-vigilance], as Allah has prescribed, and know that Allah is Sami [Hearing and Listening] and Alim [All-Knowing]. (Al Hujurat:1)

Surely, those who humbly soften their voices in the presence of the Messenger of Allah are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for taqwa. Theirs will be absolution and a vast reward. (Al Hujurat:3)

And when they realized their mistake, and saw that they had gone astray, they said, “Unless our Rab [Lord] shows mercy and kindness to us and absolves us, we will surely be among those crushed with disappointment.” (Al A’raf:149)

Dua [Supplication] in the Qur’an

Suratul Baqara, ayat [verse] 286
Allah does not load a person with more than they can carry. Everyone will get whatever good they earn and whatever bad they earn.
“Our Rab, please do not take us to task if we forget or make mistakes.”

[Rabbana latu-akhizna in nasina aw akhta’na]

“Our Rab, please do not lay on us such a burden as You did on those before us.”

[Rabbana wala tahmil ‘alayna isran kama hamaltahu ‘alallazina min qablina]

Our Rab, please do not lay on us (burdens) that we do not have the strength to carry. Forgive us, absolve us and tolerate us, and have mercy and be kind to us. You are our Mawla [Protecting Master], so give us victory over the community of kafirin [unbelievers].”

[Rabbana wala tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bih. Wa’fu ‘anna waghfir lana warhamna. Anta Mawlana fansurna ‘alal qawmil kafirin]

Suratul Taghabun, ayat 18
He is the Knower of the hidden and the apparent, Al Aziz [The One Mighty with Benevolence], Al Hakim [The Wise One].
