LAYLATUL QADR: NIGHT OF POWER

Laylatul Qadr Mubarak!

The auspicious night of Laylatul Qadr will be observed tonight.

(Below is an edited excerpt of the Sohbet given on Saturday 3 August 2013 about Laylatul Qadr by Murshid Shaykh Taner Vargonen Ansari)

During namaz [prayer], imagine you are in front of Allah’s universe and angels are all around you, and you go to sajda [prostration], you say,

Subhana Rabbi al ‘ala [Glory to my Lord The Most High].

When you say,

Allahu Akbar [Allah is Greater than Great],

You have to mean it. Imagine yourself in space. “Allahu Akbar!” This Allahu Akbar has to reverberate or echo in the universe.

Surely, there are signs of Allah in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the difference of night and day, for the ulul albab. Such are those who do zikr of Allah standing, and sitting and reclining, and contemplate the creation of the heavens and the earth, and say, “Our Rab, You did not create all this for nothing! Glory be to You! (Please) protect us from the torment of the Fire.
(Aal-e Imran 3:190-191)
