Intention comes from your brain. That is why you have this logic, which can differentiate between the right and the wrong and has the power to understand. It is called ‘aql. Your ‘aql has to make a decision that you need to learn Allah. This is the right thing to do. When ‘aql makes a decision, and is firm about it, then it goes to your heart as intention. Why does it go to your heart? Because Allah’s essence is in your heart and you are going to present this to Allah personally and Allah is in your heart personally. You are presenting it there then, “Yes, I would like…” you are putting a supplication saying, “I would like to learn You, see You.” And this is stated in your heart in the presence of Allah. Then Allah looks at that. Then He slowly or quickly, that is His business, makes it happen to you at the pace that you can take because He will not burden you with something that is over your capacity. So He has all these things, He watches out for you. He is good. Allah is good! Allah is good! He is great!
Truly, His command when He wills a thing is only to say to it, “Kun [Be!]” and it is. And may He be exalted Who keeps the sovereignty over everything in His hands, and to Him you will all return. (Ya Sin:82-83)
There is no sin for you in mistakes that are unintentional, but rather only what your hearts intend, because truly, Allah is Ghafur [Tolerant] and Rahim [Full of Mercy and Kindness]. (Al Ahzab:5)
