The Beginning

The Beginning of Everything

A’uzu billahi minash-shaytanir rajim, Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.
[I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast. In the name of Allah, The One Who Acts with Mercy, The Source of Mercy.]

Alhamdulillah, we thank Allah that we are all here. And thank you for being here and I appreciate you all. It is good to have connections, you know.

The Beginning of Humankind

Pay attention, this is very important for you and for the people around you. Satan knows what happened at the beginning so he does not forget but as human beings, we need to be reminded of how all things started. At the beginning, Allah said, “I am going to create a khalifa on earth for Me.” And they said, “No! Do not do it! We are here to praise You, why do You need somebody who cause bloodshed?” Allah said, “I know what you do not know.”

So because they look down upon Adam, He said, “When I create him and blow My Spirit into him, I want you to prostrate to him.” So they did except Iblis, one of the jinn. Some of the jinn probably did prostrate. And Allah asked him, “Why are you not doing?” He said, “You created him of earth and me from fire, I am not going to prostrate to him.” So in this scene there are certain things:

1. Satan thought he is better than Adam.

2. All the angels and the jinn – angels from ignorance, jinn from jealousy – they questioned Allah’s wisdom that He wants to create a khalifa for Him on earth.

Now why are you questioning Allah’s decree? If He wants to do that, He is the king, He can do anything He wants. So that is why Allah The Most High, this time around, He does not want people who can object to Him. That is why we have to go through His training. And He will only accept in His close quarters those who have gone through training and therefore they will not object to Him, and accept Him as is and love Him.

Qur’an References of The Beginning

Al Baqara

30. And when your Rab said to the angels, “Without a doubt, I am going to place a khalifa [representative] on earth,” they said, “Will You place someone who will cause corruption and shed blood, while we do Your tasbih [continuous glorification] with gratitude and praise, and we sanctify You?” He said, “Surely, I know what you do not know.”

31. And He taught Adam all the names (of Allah that are manifested in creation), then showed them to the angels saying, “Tell Me what these names are, if you are truthful?”

32. They said, “Glory be to You! We do not have any knowledge except what You taught us. Truly You, You alone, are Al Alim [The All-Knowing One], Al Hakim [The Wise One].”

Sad

71. When your Rab said to the angels, “I am going to create a mortal human out of clay,

72. “And when I have shaped (Adam) and breathed into him of My Ruh [Spirit; Life Energy], then fall down before him in sajda [prostration].”

73. Then the angels fell down in sajda, all of them together

74. Except Iblis [Satan]. He was vain and arrogant, and became one of the kafirin [unbelievers].

75. (Allah) said, “O Iblis, what stops you from doing sajda before that which I have created with My hands? Are you too proud, or are you of the exalted ones?”

76. (Iblis) said, “I am better than him. You created me of fire and You created him of mud.”

77. Allah said, “Get away from here, because you are cast out!”
